We have just booked for our third corporate away stay at Hornes Place. It is the perfect venue for a relaxed strategy workshop with our management team. Great breakout spaces and enough rooms with bathrooms to enable us to bring our full senior leadership team. Excellent location close enough to trains to allow people to arrive from around the UK. We considered alternatives this year but couldn't find anything that worked so well for a team event.

After reading all the amazing reviews this property lives up to expectation. From the kitchen that has every kitchen utensil you need to the pool, hot tub with plenty of seating for people not wanting to swim, games rooms to keep the kids entertained. The rooms are kept to a high standard and the beds comfortable. We had the best time celebrating my mums 60th Birthday with all the family, we couldn't ask for more.

What can you say about a place that covered everything for all our ages from 2 years to 70. Lots to do from rowing boats, kayaking, indoor swimming pool, hot tubs and games room. Fantastic facilities in the kitchen area too and outside use of the barbecue and pizza oven. Amazing memories made.

What a wonderful weekend for an early 3 night family celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. 19 of us aged 3 to 77. All enjoyed the facilities, including games room, boating lake, swimming pool , hot tubs and BBQ. Topped of with a lovely meal cooked for us on Saturday evening by Helen Groves of Food Comes First. The children enjoyed feeding the hungry lake fish 3 times a day. Bedrooms and all facilities clean and comfortable. Owners friendly and helpful. Lots of equipment available in kitchen. Thankfully the weather was kind to us, but lots to do indoors if it rains. All in all a fun packed weekend and quality time with extended family. Thank you. We will save up and come again. Rented the Oast to celebrate a milestone b’day, firstly with family including children, then adult friends and family mid week. The Oast lived up my expectations & more. Everyone enjoyed the accommodation, the grounds and numerous activities but the highlight was feeding the fish as instructed 3 meals per day! Special thanks to the owner who I met briefly when leaving and his father who looked after the pool and hot tubs daily.
Also I have to mention Amy for being so helpful, with prompt communication on any queries we had. Would love to return at some point but would probably book direct rather than through an agent.

I booked Horne’s Place Oast and barn for my extended family aged from 12 to 60 something and it was absolutely wonderful. There was plenty of room for us to spend time together and so much to do. It was particularly gratifying to see everyone so busy that phones and tech were abandoned!
Although it was February, we were very lucky with great weather and everyone enjoyed the boats and kyaks. The pool and hot tub were big hits too. The games room was also well used. Even feeding the fish was really popular!
Having so much room to eat together, both on the deck and in the kitchen was lovely. We pre ordered a Chinese takeaway from the Oriental Delight in Rye which was very good, especially their noodle dishes. It was a pleasure to cook together in the well equipped kitchen, again with plenty of space.
It was a real surprise that such a high end venue allowed us to bring our dogs. They had lovely walks both from the doorstep and a fifteen minute drive away at Camber Sands.
Thank you Amy, Gavin and Sue- we arrived with very high expectations and they were exceeded. Everyone agreed that it was a perfect break, which felt like a holiday in our own private resort. We would love to visit again.

We were an intergenerational family group of 17 , ranging from 8 to 80 , and the property (Oast House and Barn) was perfect for our needs. We had room to eat together comfortably in the kitchen/ dining area and there was plenty of space for us all to spread out. The weather was bad outside (it was early January!) but the Sky screen was handy for watching sport , the games room proved popular with the teenagers and the swimming pool provided a lot of activity for the youngest ones (separate towels were provided for the pool) and the super fit, who also used the exercise equipment. The dogs enjoyed the property too. I can imagine that in summer the property would be even better. There was plenty of room for us all to sleep too. The Barn was particularly useful for my 80 year old mother-in-law, with an accessible ground floor bedroom and bathroom, and a separate lounge so she could escape the hustle and bustle of the main house. It was a shame it was so muddy when we visited as we couldn't fully benefit from the local walks , but the beach and Rye were only a short car drive away. Amy was very responsive to my emails - thank you. All in all, a great family gathering , in a great property.

We enjoyed a fantastic weekend at this property. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning. The house was clean and comfortable with everything we could possibly need. We were very impressed with the contents of the kitchen which enabled us to prepare home cooked food. The children loved the games room and the seatings areas were extensive enough to accommodate everyone in our party of 21 together. The highlight for our family (ages ranging from 6~83 years) was the boating lake. Everyone loved the kayaks, raft and rowing boats and feeding the fish. The outdoor area exceeded our expectations, it is beautifully landscaped and the children loved exploring it. The pool and hot tubs were perfect, well maintained, clean and lots of fun! We all enjoyed the changing rooms and gym area by the pool. We used the barbecue on Sunday and again found the facility great for a large group. We found all staff, previous to our stay and during our stay, very helpful. Thank you for a fabulous weekend, we would all highly recommend this property to large family groups.

Don’t wish to repeat the sentiments in the previous post but they are certainly justified. I was much impressed by the quality of the restoration of the properties – the eye for detail and the use of repurposed materials blending in with interesting modern tastefully done. Our party ranged from 5 years to 80 years – hence the celebration for the latter (as well as a golden Wedding) and even the five-year old found plenty to do, whilst the others made good use of the lake and all the other facilities. Brilliant location, steeped in history, restful ambience, choice of suntraps, exceptionally equipped kitchen – best I’ve experienced, plenty of utensils and essentials, comfy beds, cosy corners. All of this accompanied by good food, good spirits, and plenty of enjoyment. Perfection.

Must Go To!

We stayed at the Oast House and Barn for a 60th birthday celebration with family and friends. This is an absolutely stunning place and I can't recommend it highly enough. The care and attention to detail throughout both properties is fantastic. With 23 adults staying, it was great to have the large beautiful kitchen for us to eat together. We hired a chef to come and cater for us whilst we were there which was fantastic. There's everything you could possibly want at the property, the pool and hot tub, the boating lake with rowing boats and kayaks, an excellent games room and just wonderful chill out spaces to relax in, not forgetting the log burner and open fires. There's some great walks straight from the property with some leading to beautiful local pubs. Nothing was too much trouble from the owner and manager Amy who made us very welcome and attended to all our needs. Horne's Place Oast is a very special place where myself and my guests created some truly wonderful memories. It's a must go to destination.

Stayed for 6 nights for a family birthday. First impression walking in is 'Wow!', a sentiment our 3 year old grandson expressed every morning.
Great kitchen and dining room with more than enough equipment and seating for many more than our group. Hot tub was enjoyed, we used the wood-fired oven to cook pizza, kids loved feeding the fish and the TV projector in the new link extension was appreciated for football, movies and Twirlywoos. Log fire and woodburner weren't used, the house was so warm no extra heat was needed, although we were tempted just for the atmosphere, and loads of wood for fires, oven and bbq.
A camera-shy heron visited every day and seemed to obey the 'Strictly no fishing sign'. Loads of seating outside, even had sun enough to use them.
Lovely walks within, well, walking distance. In summary then... Outstanding! Loved it!

We booked the House and Barn for over 20 of us to celebrate my mother’s 70th Birthday. I am so happy I found the place, it was perfect and everyone enjoyed their stay. The house is warm and cosy, the rooms are well appointed and the owners have thought about everything. The kids loved the games room and adventure playground. The main kitchen dinner comfortably sat us all and we loved the massive kitchen to cook in. Trips to Rye, Camber Sands and the local vineyard added to a incredible weekend. Thank you to Amy and her team for all their hard work in making it a perfect stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights in January, in both the Oast & Barn. I could not recommend this enough. We cooked for 25 people all weekend and easily had enough ovens, utensils etc.
Bedrooms & ensuites were great and the surroundings even for January were well kept. Managed to park all 8 cars and still lots of room. Hot tub is a great feature and although we did not use the bbq or pizza oven would be great in the warmer months. In summary I would have given more than 5 stars if I could everyone from the ages of 8 to 78 loved it.
